I write about people, and especially relationships between them. Realistically Yours is entirely about one woman’s relationships and how each of them affected her. But I don’t like to limit myself as a writer, so sometimes, I decide to try something new. That something new this time is a new genre: fantasy.
Currently, I am working on a story (novella-sized, I’d say) about vampires. Before you even ask, no, I haven’t seen or read Twilight and no, the vampires in this story don’t sparkle. They burn up in sunlight just as nature intended.
I recently finished reading, for the first time, Dracula by Bram Stoker. My story is in the spirit of that amazing work of literature, though it draws a lot of inspiration from Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel as well.
I am currently in the editing process at the moment, and despite being on my fourth draft, I’m still not completely happy with it. I am shooting for a September release date, once again through CreateSpace, but we’ll have to see whether I can wrap up my revisions soon so I can start ordering and reviewing proof copies.
More details to come as the project nears completion!
Also, thanks to everyone who signed up for the GoodReads giveaway for Realistically Yours. I appreciate the support!
